Lots of folk write and ask me for advice, instructions and general information. I decided that I would put a place on the internet that allows them to visit and see what mischief I am (or have been) up to. Hopefully it will be appreciated - please feel free to press Ctrl + End and go to the bottom of this page and give me some feedback. If you think that it is worth it, please tell your friends, if not, please tell me - thank you.

It is my intention to add something here every 7 to 10 days - the most recent stuff will always be at the top of the page to save you time. My policy and techniques for removing stuff from the bottom - there will only ever be two weeks information shown in this page. At the bottom there will be a link to an index of earlier pages. This way, it will stop the page from becoming too long and unwieldy !

Feedback
The proportion of folk that visited this page that gave feedback from the bottom of the page has gone up quite a lot.

The number of visitors to the page has fallen - but I will continue writing every seven to ten days.
but you can help to increase them !!

It would be really good if every visitor to it, took a few seconds to invite a few friends to visit it please - thank you.

If you did not already, please consider adding yourself to the "Writings" Mailing List - it is here !!

Links
I recieved a copy of the 192.com Newsletter - it is really little more than a load of advertising blurb - I guess that you would expect that though. There was a teeny bit of useful info about stopping junk mail coming through your letter box.

I saw a web page about the Klez Worm (a sort of computer virus thing) that was a bit interesting - it was at here

If your internet connection is slow, you may be interested in broadband

Recommendations
Last week I visited my mother in Lincolnshire. Whilst I was their we paid a visit to Grimsthorpe Castle and Park. It is in Lincolnshire near a little town called Bourne.

It was very pleasant, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. We both commented on how clean it was. It was relaxing and interesting - not exciting. It is a place really for older folk rather than youngsters (although there was a very interesting looking, large kids play area). You can see details here

It was worth a visit.

This weeks hotel
Once again - no hotel this week - just a pub !!

The Town Wharf Inn.,
Swan Street,
Isleworth,
Middlesex
TW7 6RJ
Telephone 020 - 8847 2287
Once a week the Owner of Bulls Bridge Dry Dock and I go out to lunch. We try to put the matters of the world to rights.

We have a plethora of places that we visit - ranging from the tiny to huge, from unassuming to very posh.

The Town Wharf has featured in our choice quite often. It is comfortable. The food and drink is good. It overlooks a backwater of the River Thames.

There is an indoor public cark park quite near.

All in all, it is an OK place to go to.

New stuff in Byers Writings
I created a page about IP addresses

over a hundred folk have visited in the first 24 hours. It talks about the internet and how it works in very simple, none technical language. The feedback about it has been good. it is at here. It is worth a quick peep !!

There are lots of addresses mentioned on the ChitChat pages. Folk have said that they remember the name but it is great aggravation to trawl through the earlier pages to find them. This page shows all of the addresses. There is a link to the page in which they are mentioned. It also provides links to Street maps for them. If you have never visited www.streetmap.co.uk, Click here to have a look.
