Lots of folk write and ask me for advice, instructions and general information. I decided that I would put a place on the internet that allows them to visit and see what mischief I am (or have been) up to. Hopefully it will be appreciated - please feel free to press Ctrl + End and go to the bottom of this page and give me some feedback. If you think that it is worth it, please tell your friends, if not, please tell me - thank you.

It is my intention to add something here every 7 to 10 days - the most recent stuff will always be at the top of the page to save you time. My policy and techniques for removing stuff from the bottom - there will only ever be two weeks information shown in this page. At the bottom there will be a link to an index of earlier pages. This way, it will stop the page from becoming too long and unwieldy !

General
My "Teaching" enterprise has gone sour - I realised that I was being taken for a mug !! I am still teaching folk, but not on a several days a week basis in an establishment about four hundred yards from my home. Ah well, never mind Eh - these things happen.

On Monday last, I was in need of some "Retail Therapy" (it is not only ladies that do that sort of thing !!). I bought a couple of things
The first item will be of no interest at all to you, it was a new Deep Fat Fryer. It is a new really posh stainless steel jobbie - real swish !! The thing that amazaed me was the cheapness of them - from 25-00 upwards.
The other is a Web Cam - regular readers of ChitChat will remember that there is a new PC World Super Store very near to me. I already have two Creative Web Cams that work OK with Windows 98 but cause Windows 2000 to need re-installing (Creative were about as much use as a Chocolate Teapot when asked for help and advice) This one is a Creative 300. It is a wonderful easy to use bit of kit. It cost 100-00 (well 99-99 really) - would you believe it two days later, a Mail Order catalogue came through my letterbox - the same product was available for tweny pound less !! I guess folk must see me coming - hehehehe.

Links
Do you visit sites that instead of giving you just one browser window, give you lots of small ones that advertise this and that. Does this annoy you ?? I was give a recommendation for a site that says that it will stop those little varmits - it is http://www.stoppops.com/
I have not tried it but I cannot see any reason why it should not do what it says it will do. I guess it depends on how much you are aggravated.

ZDNet |UK| - News - Story - Top ten ways to terminate a laptop - follow the link to the "Complete Computer Cover" page to see the funniest bit of it all.
McSweeney's Internet Tendency: No More Lost Cause, An Interview with James Sorrels, on His Interest in General Ulysses S. Grant
Common Errors in English - is a great read !!! Make sure that you go to the bottom of the page and follow the "Go to list of errors" link. My favourite hate is "orientate" ughhhh.

This weeks hotel
Well a Restaurant and Bar really.
I was staying at my mothers in Lincolnshire and today, we decided to have a ride out to Hemswell Cliff. It was a pleasant ride - about 25 minutes on a lovely sunny day. We have been there before and our past experience told us to avoid the Boot Sale and visit the "Market" type stalls and the permanent Warehouses and shops. It was very pleasant and relaxing - we both got some bits and bobs that we wanted. Everything in the world that you might want can be found there, if you really look for it.

On the way there, we saw the White Heather Restaurant and Bar - on the way home, we stopped there for lunch. It was good !
In fact it was better than good, it was she tot - I know no higher compliment - hehehehe !!

Nice pleasant, friendly, clean looking building - attractive and appealing.

Easy safe car parking

Clean and pleasant toilets - in fact the whole place was clean and pleasant.

The staff were nice, friendly and attentive - thank you, I love you.

Relaxing and unpretentious - very comfortable.

We both had roast lunch from the Carvery. The portion of carved meat was cooked proper and generous. The Chef that carved it looked a bit ferocious but actually was lovely, pleasant and helpful. As much veg as one required. Cooked perfectly, displayed attractively.

Folk that know me will be aware that I can eat "three more spuds that a pig" (hehehehe) and despite the old and well known Carvery Owners trick of using small plates to make you think that you have more than you really have, I had an elegant sufficiency.
(and may the Lord be praised, the plates were nicely hot - not "burn your fingers off" hot)

All in all - a very good place to eat and be comfortable at - thank you.

Just the teeniest fly in the ointment, I do wish that they would change the supplier of their Yorkshire Puds - I suspect that they obtain them from Dunlop     !!

If you want to know how to get there, look in the addresses page for a map !!

Wall Plaques
I am reasonably well known for having pet sayings that I use to death for a week or two before getting a new one. One day recently I was sitting scratching my bum and thinking about nothing in particular - when my brain was disturbed by an idea !! It was to put some of my sayings on "Wall Plaques"

So I did - the one for this week is a tile

I will publish new ones occasionally.
