Lots of folk write and ask me for advice, instructions and general information. I decided that I would put a place on the internet that allows them to visit and see what mischief I am (or have been) up to. Hopefully it will be appreciated - please feel free to press Ctrl + End and go to the bottom of this page and give me some feedback. If you think that it is worth it, please tell your friends, if not, please tell me - thank you.

It is my intention to add something here every 7 to 10 days - the most recent stuff will always be at the top of the page to save you time. My policy and techniques for removing stuff from the bottom - there will only ever be two weeks information shown in this page. At the bottom there will be a link to an index of earlier pages. This way, it will stop the page from becoming too long and unwieldy !

The back seems to be almost back to being OK - thanks to a couple of visits to a Physiotherapist / Osteopath

The climatic conditions have increased my lethargy level to very high. Hence the delay in publishihing this. It seems likely that the next issue will be around the 10th or 11th of August.

General
On Saturday 27th July, I went to the Annual General Meeting of the Narrow Boat Trust - it was a useful and interesting meeting.

It was at:-

The Red Lion Inn.,
90 Vicarage Road,
Marsworth
near Tring
Hertfordshire
HP23 4LU
Telephone 01296 - 668 366
A thoroughly pleasant place - good selection of drinks.

A simple but good selection of food - but well prepared and very well presented.

A mere hop skip and jump from a very interesting stretch and junction on the Grand Union Canal.

A lovely place to spend a liesurely restful afternoon on a sunny day - well worth the Journey.

This weeks hotel
On Sunday 28th - I was melting at home and though "today would be a good day to go to a hotel"

A friend of mine is on a several week Narrowboat holiday - he was due to be in Berkhamstead overnight so I looked for a place there - I found:-

The Kings Arms Hotel.,

Very nice place.

Pleasant staff.

Brilliant bedroom (Room 4)

Couldn't test food - restaurant not open on Sundays (lots of other places to eat nearby though).

Breakfast was brilliant.

Will almost certainly return - I recommend it - give it a try!!

Whilst I was there, I tried eating at:-

Nicholl's Bistro.,
163 - 165 High Street,
Berkhamstead
Hertfordshire
HP4 3HB
Telephone 01442 - 879 988
Clean airey relaxing place

Pleasant staff.

Food was as requested - exactly. Just as it should be when you go out to eat.

Extensive imaginative menue.

You will have seen the abbreviations that are so much part of the Internet in general and EMail in particular. Click here for a web page that lists the meanings of lots of them.

I do not know how I got the, but I found a page called The Argentina Journal Homepage it makes quite interesting reading (well I thought so anyway) - have a look and see what you think.
If you work for an organisation that has a computer network, there will almost certainly be a person that glorifies in the name of "System Administrator" - if so, the page called 101 Things You Do Not Want Your System Administrator To Say may amuse you - it made me smile a lot (and giggle a bit). It is worth a look.
